Senate Executive Committee
The Senate Executive Committee (SEC) considers all matters within the purview of the Senate. Thus, it is charged with formulating recommendations and opinions on Senate matters and either reports them directly to the Senate or refers them to one or more standing committees for further review. The SEC acts for the Senate on all matters that call for immediate action or consultation; however, any such action a) requires an absolute two-thirds majority vote of the entire membership and b) must then be reported to the Senate as a specific agenda item at its next meeting.
